Create a Customer Portal

Navigate to The Portal section of the Administration screen

Click on "Portals". Click on "+ Create Portal"

Go through the settings and User Interface (you can always go back and make changes later) and click "Save".

  • Tab List. Tabs which modules will be shown in the navigation bar.
  • Dashboard Layout. Specify dashlets that will be displayed on the home page of the portal. Note that portal users can't configure their dashboard.
  • URL. Read-only field that displays the link you can access the portal with.
  • Layout Set. Provides the ability to use different layouts from the portal.

By default, the portal screen will show NO tabs and the portal users will have NO access to any of your system until you set up the Portal Roles. The Portal Roles area is identical to the User Roles area. The difference is that these permissions apply to users that are OUTSIDE of your system. Be diligent in assigning sensitive areas or giving access to sensitive data to your clients/customers.
